Our MVW Roofing crew got to work, starting with the careful removal of the old chimney and inspecting the structure beneath the roof. We installed 30 sheets of new plywood to replace rotted decking and reinforce the home's integrity. For long-lasting durability and weather resistance, we applied Velora One synthetic underlayment and topped it with a sleek, 29-gauge Galvalume MasterRib metal roof.

We also targeted structural repairs, including replacing a damaged 2x4 on the side of the home, ensuring everything was safe and sound without disturbing any more wood than absolutely necessary.

Our team began by removing all existing roofing down to the wood decking and back-nailing the entire roof deck for added stability. We taped all seams with Sealoron Deck Tape, ensuring a watertight seal. Any rotted or damaged wood was replaced with durable plywood. For maximum protection, we installed Velora One synthetic felt across the roof and applied a second layer to all low-pitched areas. Sealoron XT Ice and Water Shield was added to all waves, valleys, and flashing areas.

Step flashing was installed along sidewalls, while 5x5 flashing secured the end walls. New wide aluminum drip metal was fitted on all eaves and rakes, and Perma Vent pipe boot flashings were added for leak prevention. Starter strip shingles provided a strong foundation for the new IKO Dynasty architectural shingles, fastened with ring-shank nails for superior wind resistance. A ridge vent was installed along the homes main ridge and the length of the carport, finished with matching hip and ridge caps.

The result is a beautiful, high-performance system built to withstand Georgia's challenging weather. Mr. Wayne home now enhanced protection, improved ventilation, and an updated look that will last for years to come.
