New Gutter Guards for this Wallingford Home

The Brown roofing team installed new Rain Drop gutter guards for this customer. Before our crew visited this homeowner, their gutters were full, and even had some plant growth. This customer's new gutter guards will protect this home against water damage, and keep the house looking great.

Roof replacement on this home in Wallingford, CT

This home's roof, afflicted by algae and lichen, led the homeowner to replace it, a good decision considering its age of nearly 25 years. Despite minimal damage, the roof was nearing the end of its life, emphasizing the importance of preventive maintenance to save yourself from future costs. During the replacement, the existing shingles were removed, and the surprisingly well-preserved decking layer was retaped using our Sealeron Deck Tape. We applied Sealeron Ice and Water to critical areas, wrapped it behind gutters, and added synthetic underlayment for a breathable yet watertight layer. Opting for IKO Dynasty Shadow Brown Shingles, we meticulously installed them, incorporating flashings around openings like chimneys and vents. The final result is a new, secure roof ensuring peace of mind for the next 50 years.

Brand new roof on this cute home in Wallingford, CT

This home was in rough shape and in desperate need of a roof. The shingles on this home were extremely worn and faded, some of them were so bad you could see the fiberglass interior of the shingles.

The first step for this replacement was to rip up all the old shingles and inspect the decking layer below. Based on the previous inspection we knew that most of the plywood decking layer needed to be replaced. Once we could get a good look at the decking layer we discovered that we would need to replace every sheet of plywood on this home. With that done we could move on to the underlayments. This layer consists of three materials that work together to seal and protect the wood decking layer.

The next and final step is to install the shingles and flashings. This customer decided on our IKO Dynasty Biscayne Shingles. When shingling we always start at the bottom-most edge of the roof and work our way up. As we make our way up we flash around any openings in the roof with the correct corresponding material. We then finished off the roof with our Shingle Vent 2 and cap shingle.

This home got a complete makeover with this new roof, a refreshing new look.
